Lightening Bolts From Heaven!!!!

I can't believe it has already been a week! This week has been so so busy! We have seen tremendous amounts of miracles! I am so excited to share with you my week, because it was fantastic!!!
Wednesday: To finish off the day, we wanted to see our friend Mudashiru (Muda)! He is a Nigerian man, who seriously reminds me off the guy off the Green Mile. He is so kind, and sensitive, and has a pure and innocent soul. But since he is a single man we aren't able to teach him without a female member present. So we were trying to call people, and no one was available. So we ended up just taking the bus with him back to Bexleyheath. We started talking about what we believe in and we were sharing with him that we have temples and that we were going to go on a temple trip on the 29th of October, and he was like " I'm putting a reminder on my phone, I really want to go." And then we started talking about church and how sister Montredon has a talk in sacrament meeting on Sunday, and he was like "I'll be there, what time?" Sister Montredon and I were like who is this guy.... he is GOLDEN he is committing himself to stuff, we don't even have to ask him haha.
Thursday: We had district meeting!! And we have a few new missionaries in our district. Our new district leader is from Logan, Utah. His name is Elder Tuft. Our district meeting was really focused on how yes, we do want baptisms. But our ultimate goal for our friends is for them to make it to the temple. I love this because it helped me to remember my purpose. We were supposed to have another lesson with Muda tonight but he texted us saying he had to work late. So we decided that we would go and visit our friend Pam. She has been our friend since I first got out to the field, but she has been progressing really slowly. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met, but she is working through a lot of things. We felt like we didn't do much to help her. She is really starting to open up to us and starting to understand that the gospel could really help her in her life. Everything fell through tonight, but we know that everything happens for a reason. Satan tries to make us feel discouraged, but he can't "rain on my parade" uh-huh! 😀
Friday: Today was a life-changing moment for me, And I will explain why!! We had weekly planning today, and if there are any missionaries past-present-or future... they know that weekly planning is great, but it can be really long haha. And I haven't really felt the spirit in weekly planning until today! As I said in an earlier email, our mission is striving for a goal to baptise 31 people this October (#31). We know that the Lord is preparing a harvest of souls here in England, but until today we didn't TRULY believe it. Our district leader Elder Tuft called us in the very beginning of our planning, and asked us if he felt one of our friends could be baptised this October. Sister Montredon and I just stared at each other and in our heads we were like NO WAY haha its way to soon, we don't really have many people that are  progressing.... but we told our district leader that we would pray about it. So we did, and I can't describe the spirit that was there because it I have never felt the spirit in that way before. But we both had this overwhelming feeling telling us that we needed to invite Muda to be baptized for this October 29th. When we closed the prayer we both were calm and we just knew that Heavenly Father was going to guide us. We haven't even taught Muda the restoration lesson yet, but we felt strongly that we needed to extend this baptismal date to him.
Saturday: Best day ever!! Miracles... and when I say miracles I mean LIGHTNING BOLTS from Heaven!!! We had a lesson with Muda today in the park in Bexleyheath by his house. We taught the restoration, and the spirit was so strong!! It was like the first time that I knew God was providing me the words to say, I didn't even have to think about what I was going to say!! We were all in tears (including Muda). When we finished the lesson we invited him to be baptised for October 29th, we sat there in silence for a couple of minutes until he said " I felt this piercing feeling in my heart, and a voice literally tell me "this is the time"". Sister Montredon and I were speechless. I didn't know whether to cry or smile or scream or jump up and down!!! I know that God works mighty miracles, and that we are the tools in His hands. This experience has helped me learn that no matter what prompting Heavenly Father gives us, even if they are scary or hard that we MUST follow them. Because this is His work!!!! Muda is getting baptised!!!!!!
Sunday: Today was absolutely crazy busy!! Muda came to church though!!! He was pretty emotional through sacrament meeting! And he told us, " I know this is true, there is no turning back, this is what I want". I feel like we don't even have to teach him, God really has prepared him haha 😀 we went to a member house for lunch today! I'm not sure what we ate. There was an assortment of meat, and pasta, and then this apple dessert thing. I've just gotten to the point where I don't ask I just eat it. I really am grateful though for the members being so kind and feeding us! Even though I'm picky 😂 I'm trying to be better though! Tonight was insane. We accidentally left our phone on the bus, but we didn't know it was on the bus, we thought we left it at Tobekas house. We searched and searched and couldn't find it. So we said a prayer, and immediately I felt like it was on the 229 bus. So we went to the bus garage, and the worker called the 229 bus company and they said that they had our phone.... but that they are in Dartford, which is the very bottom part of our area. Luckily it was still in our area! So we spent the rest of the night trying to get our phone! There is never a dull moment with sister Montredon and I. I mean you know me.... I'm really gullible and a little bit ditsy, and sister Montredon is the same. We always tell ourselves that people probably think we are drunk because we are always giggling and smiling, and people here think that is very strange!
Monday: we had flat inspection today with Elder and Sister McDonald! I love them! They are the best!! We got an A+ 😊 We texted Muda this morning to see how his Book of Mormon reading was coming, and this is what he said "It's been a little hard...I think I need glasses". 😂😂 we were laughing so hard when he sent us this text because he is so AMAZING! He said it was hard because he literally couldn't read it, so when we saw him tonight we had him download gospel libraries on his phone, so now he can easily see the Book of Mormon :) we taught the Word of Wisdom, and the Law of Chastity lessons. He accepted all of it, with no problems, he was like I'll throw away all of my tea, I'll do anything. I want to be able to go to the temple! He's like yes I really want to be baptised but I really want to go to the temple! He amazes me!
Tuesday: today we had a chapel tour in Orpington with Christian, so he can see where he is going to be baptised in November! He is so excited! It was fun to see him so excited! That took up a lot of our day, but the rest of the day we were super busy with planning Muda's baptism! We are moving like 1000mph here, but we love it!!
We have seen the hand of God in our week this week!! I can just say that I know that when we follow promptings, that GREAT things can come to pass! GREAT THINGS!! All things are possible through our loving Heavenly Father. I have seen that I really need to learn to LOVE what comes! I want to embrace the culture and people and everything! I want to find the JOY here! I want you all to know that I love the gospel, that I am truly happy because of the Gospel! The Gospel is what brings true happiness! I love you so much. Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head

This week was a good week! It had its difficult moments, but I loved it!
 Wednesday: it was our first district p-day. So we went to the Orpington chapel, and we played volleyball and chair soccer and fruit basket, and of course we had food! It was so much fun!! It was a not so fun night however haha. Sister Montredon lost her bus pass, while we were in Sidcup which is about 30 minutes from Bexleyheath. So we spent about an hour trying to get the bus's number to contact them about a missing Oyster card. But MIRACLE a really nice bus driver gave us a free "ticket-to-ride" (there's a Beatles song for ya pops) back to Bexleyheath! It really stressed out Sister Montredon, because those are not cheap! But luckily we have everything figured out now!!
Thursday: today was fabulous! We had zone training! It was like a "life-changing" day for me! We did a lot of different role plays and workshops. But the workshop that hit me the most was when we had our "individual interview with Christ". We basically just went in a room by ourself, and there was a picture of Christ with some questions that we had to answer. I'm not going to share any more of what happened because it was a really sacred experience for me, but I can say that it was one of the most spiritual experiences I have ever had. It made me really ponder on my personal relationship with Christ. To end Zone training I was chosen to give a talk on my favorite Book of Mormon story, so I chose to do 1 Nephi chapter 3. This chapter is what got me here on a mission! It seems like I am always the one that is called up to give talks or bear my testimony. Heavenly Father really likes to give me these types of growing opportunities.....haha yay for growth! I actually really love it! To end off the night we went to Brother Middleton's (ward mission leader) house, and had  correlation meeting!
Friday: Being bold is only hard when you start to fear man more than God. Today was really good. We did a lot of contacting and finding, because we are in our "harvest week". So sister Montredon and I made it a goal to be bold! I still sometimes get scared to walk up to strangers and talk to them about the gospel, but then I have to take a step back and realize that I am called of God to spread the Gospel, that it is his work not mine! And I need to be bold for Him! I'm not perfect but I'm trying.
Saturday: today we did banner contacting!! Haha it was a different experience, but it was awesome!! What we did was we went on the high street and set up this 6' banner and we sang hymns and we contacted people! It was great because we had our whole district there of 12 missionaries and so we all were singing and "running" after people 😂. Not everyone appreciated it..... some kids tried to explode soda on us haha, but hey I loved it!! And I felt the spirit, so it was a great experience. Later in the evening we went to P.C.'s house (the Thai lady) and yes she made Thai food. I think we ate something that she called seaweed and lily flower soup.... I'm not sure what was in it, but it tasted okay! And then she made us this really yummy green bean salad thing! Oh my goodness though! On our way home it was POURING...I'm starting to get a taste of the English weather, and it is very unpredictable! It can be sunny one minute and pouring the next!! Good thing we have umbrellas and rain jackets! 😊
Sunday: today we were sooooo busy!!!! Yay! We had a lesson with such a golden family! Their names are Sheni (dad), gBemi (mom), Shemi (the son), and Demi (the daughter). I love their names! We taught the restoration and the lesson went really well!!! The spirit was so strong and they were involved and had so many questions! After that lesson we went to a members house and did a Skype lesson, and after that lesson we stopped by Maureen's house and we were able to talk to her husband who isn't a member! MIRACLE!!! The whole day was just go go go but I LOVE days like that!
Monday: today was a different day! It was Elder Morelli's (district leader) last full day in the field. So we travelled to Croydon, which is almost two hours away by bus, so that we could do banner contacting. We went to lunch at KFC, yucky. I'm not a huge fan to begin with, and English KFC isn't very good! It was so fun to be in Croydon though! There are some really cute twins in that area! But since we went to Croydon, it ate up the whole rest of our day, because we got stuck in traffic on the way back! And then we got lost on our way to one of our lessons, and had to wait for 30 minutes for a bus! But it was such a great day!
Tuesday: we got our flu jabs today! They do them differently here, and you know me when it comes to making sure things are clean... that's all I will say 😂 but we were able to go see Christian today!!! We taught him the 10 commandments, and it was a really fun lesson! We switched his baptism to November 12th, because he wants to be baptized on his birthday! So we are really excited, and he is SO excited! Maureen is even reading the Book of Mormon, she is making so much progress! We are so proud of them, and I know Heavenly Father is too!
Wednesday: this afternoon I made moms white chicken chili, and I did pretty good, if I do say so myself! They don't have the same ingredients as mom uses here, but I improvised! So that was kind of fun to make something from home!!
I loved all of your emails! They are always exactly what I need! So keep them coming 😉 but I love you so much! I really want you all to remember who you are. We are all literally God's sons and daughters! How amazing is that! Don't let Satan tell you that you aren't special. We all have a purpose here in life. We all go through trials but as we stay close to our Heavenly Father he can make our burdens feel light as it says in Mosiah 24:14. God visits His people in their afflictions, He NEVER abandons His children. Make it a great week, and just know how much I love you. You are always in my heart and prayers! We can do hard things!!!!

The Harvest is Here!!

Fam fam!!! I hope you are doing well! I love you so so much! I love all the pictures you send me! The week here in Jolly Ole' England was great!
Wednesday: P-days are always great! But this evening we were able to go to Bishop King's house and have dinner with his family. Their family is amazing! His wife Sarah is actually from New York. But they have 4 kids! They are the best!
Thursday: We had some very interesting experiences today!! It's crazy what people think about Mormons! They hear the WEIRDEST things!! So it's funny to see people's reactions when we tell them who Mormons really are... they're like "wow, your like real people" haha... yes, yes we are!! We were able to go and see one of our friends. She was a referral from a less active in our ward. Her name is Victoria! She is so kind, and she is really interested in the gospel. She is especially interested in temples! So it has been really fun to teach her!
Friday: We had district meeting today! And I loved it! We did role plays to practice how we can help members with their goals! That is something that our mission has really been trying to focus on. We are really trying to get the members more involved in missionary work! But like always our district meetings never end on time so we got back to our flat later than expected haha. So we had enough time to finish our studies, and go  to one of our investigators house!
Saturday: It was so rainy today!!! And we don't understand how to turn our heater on so we just put on a lot of layers!! But today was a topsy-turvy day! We normally do weekly planning on Fridays but since we had district meeting yesterday we didn't have time to do it. So we started off today with weekly planning. After we finished with that all of appointments started to fall through! So we decided that we would go to one of our members house and do a  GROW (teaching) with her. MIRACLE!!! Normally she works but she had tonight off! But man oh man can she talk! We were there for about an hour and 15 minutes and we were trying to leave haha, but then her nephew walked in the door MIRACLE! He has been a less active for about 4 years and he is married and has two kids! And he said that he is really interested in meeting with us! So that was super exciting, God puts us exactly were we need to be at the right time!!
Sunday: So today was a day full of miracles.... I know I say that a lot, but I will probably continue to say it! God is a God of miracles!! So since we are meeting in Bexley Grammar school, we only had sacrament meeting today because a pipe burst and they didn't have any running water. But oh my goodness! Testimony meeting was amazing. Maureen has been a member for about 15 years and she has never born her testimony until today!!! She did so well ☺️ MIRACLE: a man we met on the bus named Jabulani came to church! We haven't ever met with him but we invited him to come to church and he came!!! We were freaking out, he said he really liked it, and that he felt the spirit and that he wants to learn more about the gospel! After church we had lunch at a members house with a couple of her friends that aren't members, they aren't interested, but we were still able to share a message with them and it was great to meet them. I love your selfie Sundays! Keep them coming!! You both look so good! It looks like you have both lost weight, what's your secret haha😉
Monday: Today we were on exchanges, so I was with sister Bove, I LOVE HER! She is from Honduras but she lives in Spain. She came out the same time I did. So let's just say it was an adventure today.... you know that I am not good with directions in Utah, and we have Mountains... so you can imagine how I am here haha. But it was really good, we were able to visit with a LA in our ward, and she fed us food. Really really spicy African food. We eat a lot of African (Nigerian food) here. I'm not a huge fan of Nigerian food, but I'm thankful for their kindness! The lesson went really well! She really likes to talk too! Then we decided that we would go to Thamesmead and go to one of our friends house that we tracked into the week before. She didn't end up being home, but we met her sister Abi, and gave her a card. But it was okay because we met two people on the bus that gave us all their contact info, because they wanted to learn more! It was a good day, we learned a lot.
Tuesday: I loved today! Today was the best!! We went to a Chinese restaurant really close to our flat. It wasn't bad, buts it's no Golden Jade 😉. After we finished our exchanges we went to our friend Pam's for a lesson. She REALLY opened up to us and asked us so many questions. I really feel like she is someone who is going to be baptized. She just needs time! The spirit we felt was amazing! Later in the evening we had a Skype lesson with another one of our friends Enrique. He is interested, but he loves his faith, so it's been a little difficult to teach him because he really likes to talk. Today was sooooo good though!!
This week is a finding harvest week... meaning we are trying to find as many people as we can to teach! And can I just tell you again that God IS a God of miracles! The harvest really is here. God is preparing His people all over the world. All He asks is that we open our mouths. He doesn't say that we need to be perfect, He just wants us to try! I love you all, and I loved hearing what you liked from conference! Have a great week! And remember how much I love you. We can do hard things! Attitude IS everything!

Family, I love you sooo much!! This week has been so so so amazing, I don't even know where to start! I love all the pictures that you send me, and all the emails too! They really brighten my day!
THIS WEEK 😊
Wednesday: After P-Day, we had a lesson with Christian, Maureen's son. He is 9 years old, and he is the best! In our lesson we committed him to be baptized October 22nd!! He is so happy and excited. Today really was such a good day!
Thursday: Today we had Tri-Zone Conference! And oh boy, it was like the best thing ever! It was in Crawley! Crawley is about 2ish hours away from us! And we had to be at the church at 9. So it was an early morning. It was probably really funny for people watching us get on and off trains because we kept getting lost! Haha but we eventually made it there, and we were on time!! But tri-zone conference was so good, the messages that were shared with us really answered my prayers, and made me realize how LUCKY I am to be a missionary. We have a Facebook page for our mission, and elders and sisters had been posting "#31" and sister Montredon and I were so confused! But luckily, our confusion was cleared up at zone conference! #31 is the number of baptisms our mission is shooting for in October. We are all working so hard and we know that God is a God of miracles, that He is preparing His people here in England. And it is so true! We have seen so many miracles.
Friday: Our morning started off by going to Maureen's house for a cancer awareness thing. It was really fun, and we were able to meet a lot of people! We met a few of her friends that are interested in learning more about the gospel! So we were able to set appointments with them!! And they really want to come with us to our next temple trip on the 29th of October, so that will be really fun! Haha but Maureen wanted us to bring a dessert to the party.... so we were like okay we can bring a chocolate cake. But the cake didn't cook in time. So we thought we could save it by putting it in the microwave to cook it longer..... and then make cake pops and drizzle Nutella over them haha. We were getting really creative. But since we didn't have time, we didn't allow the cake to cool down before we put them into cake pops they turned into solid rocks! And I mean solid.... but the worst part is is that we didn't know that because we didn't try them before we brought them to Maureen's house. So we were just sitting on the couch and one of her friends went to bite into our cake pop and we heard this like big crunch!  Ughhhhhh..... we were so embarrassed but we were laughing so hard! And then later that night we went to one of our investigators house, her name is Pam! She is really nice. She made us SOOO much food. English people really like to feed you! But they especially like to give you sweets and baked goods! I think I've gained like 5 pounds.... ugh it's horrible haha! Because you like can't tell them no, because they put so much time into making stuff! But it's okay because we are going on a diet haha 😂
Saturday: This morning we went to one of the recent converts in our ward, Tobeka! She is the best. And we had brunch with her and taught her about family history! She wants to bring names to the temple. She is so excited to go! We were able to watch some of General conference today! It works differently here because we are 7 hours ahead of Utah. So we had to go to Orpington to watch it at their church because we didn't have a place to go here in our area. So we watched Saturday morning session here at 5pm! I loved conference! I went into conference with a few questions and they were ALL answered!
Sunday: We went down to Orpington earlier this afternoon and we spent the whole day there! We were able to watch Saturday Afternoon session online, and then we were able to watch Sunday Morning session Live at 5pm :) those were the only sessions we were able to watch, so we are trying to catch up on the other sessions during lunch and dinner! But really the messages from conference came at the perfect time for me. Heavenly Father definitely knows what each and everyone of us needs!
Monday: today we had a lesson with Maureen's whole family!!! MIRACLE! Maureen's husband isn't a member but he stayed for the whole lesson, and even said that we could come back and teach him! MIRACLE! And then he also gave us authorisation for Christians baptism!!! MIRACLE!! Haha. We saw a lot of miracles today!
Tuesday: Today was really a day of miracles. We spent most of our day in The Thamesmead area today. We were trying to go there to "heart- attack" (a bunch of sticky notes on the door) one of our less active friends, so we were able to do that. But on our way there we got lost... haha like always... and we went down this road and we realized it was the wrong road. We finally found her house. And then when we were leaving we started walking down that same wrong road! We felt a prompting that there was a reason that we kept walking down this road. So we decided to do some knocking on the first row of houses. No one answered until the last door, and her name was Clara! MIRACLE! She said she wanted us to come back, yay! It reminded us of President Utchdorfs talk "fourth floor, last door" haha but we said "first floor, last door". Heavenly Father gives us the spirit so that we can go where He needs us to go. And He needed us to go to Clara's house! The gospel is True!! 😀
I love being a missionary. It brings me true JOY. Seeing the change in people's hearts is amazing. People come from all different backgrounds and many have had really hard lives... but the gospel changes lives. I know this to be true! I want you to know how much I love you! I want you to feel like you are on this journey with me. I'm here to share the happiest thing I know! And I get to help bring families together for eternity! I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I love you so much and I thank you for the examples you have been for me! I'm so grateful that you are my family for eternity! Have a great week! We can do hard things! Attitude is everything! ❤️

My Tri-Zone Conference

All These Things Shall Give Thee Experience

Another week down! Where is the time going! This week has been one of the best and one of the hardest weeks so far on my mission! I definitely have seen the hand of our Loving Heavenly Father in my life this week. This week something that I feel like Heavenly Father has been trying to get me to focus on is the power of faith and what faith actually is. I was reading in one of my missionary training books, and there was a scripture in D&C 122: 7, 9. These verses hit me so hard! "All theses things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good... Therefore, hold on". Everything I am going through on my mission is for me to grow and to learn something, growing can be so hard... But something that Elder Uchtdorf said in his talk in the women's conference this past weekend really affirmed to me that Heavenly Father answers our prayers. "Faith means that we trust not only in God's wisdom, but that we trust in His love". I know that everything in the end is going to make sense. That even though I am going to go through hard times in my life, they are but a small moment in the grand scheme of eternity. And because God loves me and all of us, we have been given the chance to come here to earth and have experiences that will shape us for eternity... And I don't want to waste my experience here just going through the motions. Faith implies action. When we are seeking for faith And doing everything Heavenly Father asks of us, He PROMISES to always be with us. I know that God loves each and everyone of us, and that he has a plan for each and everyone of us. I know that when we step into the unknown and do things that are hard for us, that that is when we are showing our faith, and that is when we are going to TRULY feel God's love. All we must do is trust that God knows us better than we know ourselves. I love being a missionary, and seeing the change in peoples' lives. It is a feeling like no other, seeing people choose to come closer to Christ is miraculous, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Wednesday: our P-day was super busy! We had a lot to do!
Thursday: so many miracles... Kylee and Ben were married for time and all eternity! Before I came on my mission, when I new that they were going to get married while I was gone I was soooo sad! But today I really felt like angels were bearing me up. I honestly was just so happy for the two of them, I was sad I couldn't be there to support them. But I was there for you in spirit! :) Heavenly Father kept us really busy today!
Friday: today was the first time I went to Woolich.... And man oh man, I can't say that I really want to go back!! Haha don't get me wrong it's a nice place, but it is so busy! It's fun to see. Different place and to experience a different environment though! We went to Woolich because we were visiting a recent convert (P.C) she is from Thailand, so she made us Thai food! It was so spicy and we already know how I feel about Thai food haha! But I was able to connect with her because I told her about Uncle Aaron, and Aidan and Alex!
Saturday: today was the best day! We got to take some of our friends to the London temple! It was such a spiritual experience! I also got a letter from Daddy! And I got it just when my heart needed it the most! Thanks Pops! Getting real life mail haha is the best! Bexleyheath is starting to feel more like home for me, it's taken some time, and it will take more, but it's getting a lot better!
Sunday: today was great!! Haha Maureen came to church and told us that she has an interview with the bishop for a limited temple recommend. Words cannot express how happy I was! I never knew that I could feel so much joy for another persons choice! I am so proud of Maureen, she truly is amazing!
Monday: today was a rough day. We all tend to have days like that. I found myself on my knees praying a lot! But I also had a day of "change". I realized that I shouldn't take one minute on my mission for granted. I won't go into the details of what happened, but all I can say is that I love my Heavenly Father, I am grateful He doesn't take away these hard times, but that He helps us through them.
Tuesday: today I am grateful that I know the truth! I know that this is the only true church! I love in D&C 50:25, where it says that if we know the Truth, that we can chase the darkness away. I LOVE this when we know our Savior and we know the gospel.... We can chase the darkness away! :)
I want you all to know how happy I am. The gospel makes me the happiest, and how lucky am I to spend 18 months doing something that makes me happiest.

Step Up to the Plate and Take Your Swings!

I love you so much family! This week went by pretty fast! Time as a
missionary is pretty strange... RM's know exactly what I am talking
about. But HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Pops and Mama!!! 25 years with eternity
to go! I love you, you are both such great examples to me! Love is in
the air... Congrats to Ben and Kylee tomorrow!! I am so excited for
you two, I know that Heavenly Father is so proud that you have made
the choice to be married in the temple for time and all eternity. I'll
be there with you in spirit ❤️
In our weekly mission president letter, they sent us a video. And in
the video, they quoted President Hinckley "forget yourself and get to
work". This hit me so hard... I haven't been my best. I get that I am
human haha, but like daddy always says we need to step up to the plate
and take our swings. As a missionary I feel like we take a lot of
swings haha! With missionary work comes a lot of emotions, but the
thing that matters is how we deal with these emotions. We all have
hard days, but we CAN'T turn those hard days into hard weeks. This
life is meant to bring us happiness, but we have to have positive
attitudes to find the happiness in life. But when I heard that quote
by President Hinckley I told myself that today is the day I change my
attitude. Instead of thinking "oh man I have 17 more months to go" I'm
going to be grateful for his journey I am on with my Heavenly Father
and Jesus Christ. And I choose to be happy and positive about the
situations I am in.
"When life gets too hard to stand, kneel". I testify that I KNOW prayer
works. Heavenly Father really does answer each and everyone of our
prayers. I have found myself on my knees a lot this past week,
pleading to my Heavenly Father, and I know that He has been carrying
me through my afflictions and showing me tender mercies. I LOVE
HIM!!!!
Today I have been thinking a lot about our family, but specifically
those who aren't here with us anymore. I want you to know that I know
that Papa and Grandma have been here with me. It's the  most amazing
thing. Heavenly Father knows I have been struggling with things, and I
truly feel like Papa and Grandma have been here with me 100% of this
journey. Like the scriptures say and promise... I will be on your
right and your left and I will send angels to bear you up... This is
so true.
I miss American products!! Haha I really miss Daddy's blackberries
pancakes! I have no idea what the conversions or labels are here.
Maybe you could send me a picture of the conversions from England to
America haha 😂 also mama if you could send me some cheap healthy
recipes that we use at home! I want to cook real food because I really
don't want to gain weight haha.
Regarding like letters and packages: I sent you off a package today,
so hopefully you get that soon! Let me know when you get it. So you
can send letters to our flat with the address I sent you. But if you
send packages it's best to send them to the mission office.
Thank you for sending lots of pictures. Pictures really have helped me
make this place feel more like home. Sister Montredon says that my
parents don't look their age at all. She says you look really young.
She's so sweet! Mama could you send me grandpas email address. I
really want to email him.

Wednesday: the rest of p-day was pretty good! Not a lot to report!

Thursday: today was crazy/ great. We were so so so busy. We had lunch
with sister Eckelt a German lady in our ward. We shared the Mormon
message Because of Him... And don't worry... I cried through the whole
thing. But that is okay because I know that that is how the spirit
testifies and speaks through me. When we're out street contacting
tonight we met a man who is from Bulgaria, and he speaks very little
English. But he wanted to know more so we pulled out google translate!
Thank goodness for Google translate, and we were able to sort of talk
to him. But that was an interesting experience. When we got back to
our flat Brother and Sister McDonald came over to help us build our
beds because we still didn't have beds... But they didn't have a screw
driver so they couldn't finish. So we put our mattresses in the study
room. Oh man... I have never been so hot in my entire life! Sister
Montredon and I were dying!!! We grabbed wet wash clothes and poured
cold water on our arms and just laid in our beds soaking wet haha. We
were laughing so hard.

Friday: today was great! The McDonalds came back and helped us finish
our beds YAY!! We finally have beds :) and they even brought us a
fan... Just in time for colder weather, but we were so grateful! They
took us out to a restaurant on the street we live on called the
giggling sausage. I still have no idea what kind of food is served
there haha. But I got this sandwich that I thought was going to be a
grilled cheese sandwich... It wasn't what I was expecting. I say that
a lot here in England when it comes to their food haha. We were able
to see Maureen and her family again today! We committed them to come
to church, so hopefully they will come!! We saw so many miracles
today!

Saturday: today was my first district meeting! I love district
meetings they are fantastic! Today wasn't as busy. But it was nice
because our district meeting was in an actual church building, whereas
we meet in the school for church... I don't think I'll get used to
that.

Sunday: so many miracles!!! Maureen and her boys came to church!!!
Ahhh, we were so excited! I even got to speak in church, the bishop
asked me to just bear my testimony, and it was a great experience!
After church we had a lesson with a new investigator named Ayo. She is
from Nigeria, she is so so kind. The lesson went really well. Sister
Montredon and I feel like the Lord has prepared her! Something that we
have noticed in our area is that we will go and teach a lesson and we
will all feel the spirit so strong, and then we will meet someone on
the bus or street contacting who is totally anti-Mormon. Satan works
in mysterious ways. People here in England are very very
"Bible-oriented" and they aren't open to anything else. It can be
really discouraging at times but I know that the Lord always helps us.

Monday: today was busy,like normal! Not a lot to report as well!

Tuesday: we had a lesson with a woman named Peace! She's from Africa.
She seems so interested in the gospel which makes me so happy. We also
had a lesson with a woman named Pam, she is in her early 30s. She
talks a lot so it can be hard to share a message with her, but that's
okay. But I am really starting to like and get used to my area, I
still have hard times, but I'm starting to feel a little more at home.

I love this gospel... I can't say it enough. I know that as we keep
our hearts open to the plan that Heavenly Father has for each one of
us that He will help us through our trials. I promise and testify that
even if you don't understand why you are going through something if
you stay close to Heavenly Father that He will not forsake you. Step
up to the plate and take your swings.... You never know... You could
get a home run. I love you all so much. Make it a great week. We can
do hard things with Christ.

Patience is a Heavenly Virtue!!

Hi family!!! I am so so happy that I get to email you. My first week in the field has had a lot of ups and downs.

Thursday: First days are always hard for me, adjusting to being a missionary in the MTC, and adjusting to being a missionary in the field is completely different haha. As I said last week my trainer and companion is Sister Montredon, from France. She is a sweet heart! But today was p-day so after we were finished with everything we went to a relief society activity in our ward! The Welling ward doesn't have a ward building so they meet in Bexley Grammar School, so that is really weird for me not meeting in a ward building! But I was able to meet some of the women in the ward, I probably looked like a deer in head lights! We live in Bexleyheath on a really busy street called Broadway. So I feel like I'm living on a street in busy New York City.

Friday: Today was okay, we were able to have our first meeting with our ward mission leader Brother Middleton, he is so kind, and he loves missionary work! It's hard because since I'm in training and my companion has language study we don't leave our flat until after lunch, so I feel like I'm wasting time when I'm really not. But after our meeting with Brother Middleton, sister Montredon and I were able to do street contacting. We had an interesting experience, we met some women and they were actually gypsies. And they were very kind to us, we explained who we were, and what we were doing. And then they started to tell us that they had a friend that was going to the hospital, and they wanted us to pray for her. I felt a prompting that we should pray with them there, so I began to pray, and throughout the whole prayer they were like chanting or like saying things.... I guess they were praying with me... I was so confused though. My companion and I were like what just happened hahahah. But it was interesting to meet them. The rest of the evening we did knocking and bus contacting, which we do a lot of here.

Saturday: We saw so many miracles today!! To start our day we decided that we needed to visit a less active in the ward that lives in Abbeywood, her name is Maureen. She is married and has two sons, and she is originally from Nigeria, but we could not find her house.  We were walking around trying to find it for like 30 minutes. We decided to say a prayer, and after the prayer we found her house like 1 minute later. Prayer works (Miracle 1). Luckily she was home so she let us in, and she gave us a lot of food haha. She said that we were an answer to her prayers. She said that she had a had a really hard week, but that we were an answer to her prayers. We shared a message with her and it was amazing. We invited her to come to church and she said she would come... She didn't make it to church, but hopefully next week! Later that evening we had a lesson with an investigator, Norman. He's actually a Jehovah's  Witness... So I was nervous, because he loves the Bible. The lesson didn't go as well as we would have hoped. He had a lot to say so we weren't really able to teach. But through a lot of praying we have come to know that Norman isn't ready for the gospel. Which is okay it's all in Gods timing. We really saw God's hand in our day today!

Sunday: Today was a really hard day. I had church from 10-1, and I felt the spirit so strong. The members are wonderful and so kind. We have a lot of Nigerian people in our ward, they are great! Sister Schulz is not only in my district but she is in my ward as well, and I am so grateful! But it was a hard day for Sister Schulz and I. As soon as we saw each other we starting bawling haha. Members asked us if we missed our families...and we both just started crying haha. My companion and sister Schulz companion, sister Zulu, were like members shouldn't ask that question when the missionary has been in the field for only like 3 days haha.. After church everything we had planned to do kept falling through, and we got lost and missed our bus two times. I know as a missionary I am going to have a lot of hard days. But I KNOW that God listens and answers prayers, and that he always helps us in our afflictions.

Monday: today was good! We did a lot of finding and we were able to meet a lot of people. I think my favorite part of finding is bus contacting because they can't run away or slam the door in your face :) so I love it!

Tuesday: Today it was sooooo hot here in England, my goodness it was so hot. Sister Montredon and I sweated the whole day and night. Our flat doesn't have AC, so it gets stuffy in here but it's okay! We had a busy day. That's something that I like though because when I'm busy, I feel happy!!

I want you to know that I know this church is true. Missions are hard, and there is no way way I would still be here, if I didn't know that the church is true, and that Heavenly Father has a plan for me and for everyone. I know that I am struggling with things, but with Christ I can do hard things. I truly feel and know that my Heavenly Father loves me. There is a quote from a talk by President Thomas S. Monson, from the talk Patience is a Heavenly Virtue. " Life is full of difficulties some minor and others of a more serious nature. There seems to be an unending supply of challenges for one and all. Our problem is that we often expect instantaneous solutions to such challenges, forgetting that frequently the Heavenly virtue of patience is required." I know that we all have challenges but as we bear them with patience and stay close to the Lord that we will grow and learn so much. I'm grateful I have the opportunity to share the gospel with the people in the Welling area. I love you all so much! I have an iPad, so I am able to read emails whenever, I can only answer them on Wednesdays. And being a missionary, we live for emails, and contact from home! I love you, and have a great week with the wedding, you are all in my heart and prayers.
