6 MONTHS!!!!

Hi Fam Fam! Can ya believe it, I've been out 6 months!! This week was crazy!  Wednesday: we had zone preparation day because our whole mission hit our mission vision! That is a HUGE miracle. Like HUGE!! On our way home from Orpington we were on the bus in front of these two young boys, and they had REALLY bad language so we got up and moved, in a nice way! And they got annoyed by it and starting throwing paper balls at our heads!! Haha sister Honeycutt and I just started laughing. As we got off the bus, we saw a double rainbow! Even after "little" trials Heavenly Father will always give us "rainbows". I just thought that was a cool experience.  Thursday: we had a lesson with one of our friends, Wilfred. His brother who is a member referred him! He is so nice, he asked a lot of questions and was so willing to accept the commitment to come to church!! Yay!! It is starting to get warmer here in England!  Friday: 6 months!!!!! Today was a pretty good day, a little crazy but still good. We celebrated my birthday with a brownie heart! Haha we didn't have matches so we tried lighting toilet paper in the toaster. It didn't work. But there were no issues at all! Promise I won't do it again mom!  Saturday: we went to Angela's house today! She made us lunch, and we gave her the giant chocolate poster from Cafe Thorntons that we found on the street a few weeks ago. She thought it was so funny!! Congrats to Dave and Aline!! Baby Spencer is so cute! So excited for you.  Sunday: I got your package!!! Ahhh I needed this. I loved it so much, thank you, thank you. Today was a pretty good day, we saw Pam. Haha she wrote you an email. She would love to hear back from you, hopefully you got it. She is so nice.  Monday: I was able to get my retainer fixed today! So that was a blessing. A lady in our ward hooked us up with a really good orthodontist! So I was really grateful! We saw Pam again tonight she was cat sitting, and wanted us to come see her. So we were able to talk with her for a little bit. She is so sweet. I love her.  Tuesday: this morning we were making breakfast and we got a call from the Erith sisters saying they needed help at the train station, so we ran out and caught a bus. When we got there they had SO many bags! Haha sisters tend to collect things. When we helped sister Pratama get her stuff on the train, we heard a beeping sound, and then the train doors closed. Haha I pressed the button like 10 times, I was like it's not opening.... then the train started moving. LUCKILY the next train stop was Bexleyheath so it was funny!  This week has been crazy! I loved it but there were some harder moments. In my personal study in the Book of Mormon I have been studying in Alma, with Alma and Amulek. And in these chapters Alma and Amulek are imprisoned. And while they are imprisoned they go through some really tough situations. While I was reading these chapters it really made me think about what I would be willing or able to go through for the Lord. Sometimes things we go through are scary or hard, but I want to be able to say like Alma "be it according to the will of the Lord". I want to have this mighty trust like Alma. I want to always remember that it is much better to go through life with the Lord than without him. I was also reading through an ensign article by Elder Bednar called "accepting the Lords will and timing". And he gives a quote by Elder Maxwell: "Not Shrinking is more important than surviving". We shouldn't run from our struggles. When we realize that we have been given these trials for our benefit... for our growth, then we will understand that it really is better to endure, than to run away! I love this, and it is something I am really trying to work on. I am so incredibly grateful for the gospel, and the sunshine and joy it brings into my life. I love you all! L-O-V-E... I love you Fam Fam! Hope your Valentine's Day was great! I want you to know how much I love you, and how grateful I am for you. You are amazing! This week went pretty fast!
Thursday: I love having personal study everyday. There really is Power in the Book. Something I really loved from my personal study was in Jacob 3:1 " Pray unto him with exceeding faith, and he will console you in your afflictions". I loved this verse. It really helps me to see that each and everyone of us have afflictions big and small, and sometimes we wish that they can just be taken away. But this verse says that no matter what affliction we have that He WILL console us. Today we went to President Gublers house and we were able to have some training on how to share the gospel in a way that is unique and personal to every person we meet. We really  focused on the Holy Ghost, and how we shouldn't be moving on to doctrine until we have established what the Holy Ghost can do for them. People are interested in what the gospel can do for them rather than the doctrine. I love how Elder Bednar, whenever he teaches or has talks he always invites the Holy Ghost to guide us! That's how it should be.
Friday: Somedays are a bit harder than others and today was a harder day. But I am sooooo grateful for my companion, she is my best friend! I love her. She is such a great listener! She asked me a few questions that made me think: 1) do you believe in Christ, and that he can make up the difference, 2) do you believe your loving Heavenly Father would send you down to fail? I love these questions! And I have been able to see on my mission and in my life that Christ truly can make up all the difference, and that our Heavenly really does love us, and he does NOT want us to fail!
Saturday: We met with a new friend today, Diane. She has met with Missionaries before, but said she would like to meet with us again. She is really nice. Hopefully we can keep teaching her! We got a message this morning from Brother Middleton saying that he was able to meet you! I'm really glad it worked out! Hope you liked the "English" package.
Sunday: I love going to church and seeing all of the members in the Welling Ward. Sister Honeycutt and I had the opportunity to teach both the Gospel principles lesson, and the Young Women's lesson. It was nice to be in YW again. I still remember the YW theme!
Monday: we had exchanges with the Orpington sisters. It was so fun. I was with Sister Biesinger. She is from Farmington, Utah. She is way nice. It was really fun to get to know her, and to go visit some members and potentials in their area!
Tuesday: Valentine's Day! Today was a good day. We went to a cafe in Orpington with the sisters to celebrate. Then we traveled home from Orpington. When we got home we walked to Welling and tried by some less actives. No one was home, but it was pretty warm. It was nice to be able to walk and be outside!
This week was a great week. It went really fast. In companionship study Sister Honeycutt shared and insight with me, she said: Is living the Gospel making me happy, or does it feel like a burden or a chore? And I loved this insight. I love the gospel. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is my life, because I have the Gospel I have happiness. I am so glad that I have the knowledge of the truth. I know that it is only through the Gospel of Jesus Christ where we can find true happiness. Look for Him, and you will find Eternal Joy. Have a great week! I love you so much! Big hugs! We got this!

Til' We Meet at Jesus' Feet

Hi Fam Fam!! Something exciting is that my ward mission leader is in Salt Lake City right now! He will be there from the 7th-14th. He has a surprise for you so hopefully you will be able to meet him. He is so so nice. I'll send you more information mama. But this week was a pretty good week, it was slow but also so fast!
Friday: We went and visited Angela today. Her family has been struggling a lot lately and we were able to share the video "the will of God" and she loved it. She said it helped her so much. I love how the Lord works. Today was really good though! It was sunny and about 50 degrees. But today we saw another miracle, because we had a lesson with Pam, and her Brother Dave was there... he isn't interested, but we were able to teach both of them this evening, and it was great because they both participated. But it was really nice to get Pops' letter with his cologne, it was a great piece of home ❤.
Saturday: We had a lunch appointment at Queen's house. She lives in Woolwich, so after the appointment we tried contacting potentials and LA's in her area. We didn't find much success, but that is okay!
Sunday: Angela brought her older son to church today! This is a huge miracle!! We were so happy to see him. We made some brownies for a family in our ward. The father is battling cancer,  so they are really struggling, but they are so positive. I love Sister Honeycutt, she is like my best friend. It's scary how much we have in common! This evening our neighbors came over and gave us gifts for feeding their cats. Thank goodness we read the food label, because the chocolate they gave us has Vodka in it... haha but it was really nice of them. We have no idea what to do with them.
Monday: the weather is warming up a tiny bit. So this morning we went running! This morning we saw Gerry on the bus. we keep bumping into him... you think he would take that as a sign... but he said that he has been reading from the Book of Mormon and that it has brought him a lot of comfort. There is power in the Book!! We were walking past cafe thorntons (which they just shut down) where Angela used to work, and they had these big pictures of desserts. We asked if we could take one, and they said yes, so we are going to give it to Angela as a present.
Tuesday: We had MLC today at the Staines chapel. So we had to wake up at 4:45am to be able to make it to the chapel by 8am. Haha it was an adventure, but we made it there on time. I am getting pretty good at using public transport, so bonus! But the thing that hit me he most was when we sang God Be With You Till We Meet Again, to the Missionary couple that is leaving this transfer. I have sung this song so many times, but the phrase "Till We meet at Jesus feet" hit me so strong. One day we will ALL go back to our Heavenly Father and meet at Jesus' feet. How AMAZING is this. I am so excited for this day.
This week was a pretty good week. We are starting from scratch, so we aren't really teaching a lot of people right now, but we are definitely seeing miracles. And I know that through the things I go through everyday, the experiences I am having, that they are all shaping me to be a better and stronger person. Why not have Joy... even though things may be difficult physically, or emotionally, or even spiritually sometimes, I Ultimately have the choice to be happy or not. So ya know what, I choose happiness, because I KNOW the path I am on will and is leading me to Jesus' feet. And I can't think of a better path to be on.

He Does Nothing...Save it be for our Benefit!!!

Fam Fam!! Hi y'all (just for you mama). 😘 this week has been a good week. I know I say this every time, but I have learned a lot. I want to share a quote from President Monson's talk in October 2016: "We are blessed to have the truth. We have a mandate to share the truth. Let us live the truth, that we might merit all that the Father has for us. He does nothing save it be for our benefit. He has told us, “This is my work and my glory--to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.” I love his quote. How blessed are we to have His truth! This is the truth. Everyone can know for them self. But I love especially the part where it says that He does nothing save it be for our benefit. Everything we go through in our life is for our benefit, even if it's hard. 😊
Friday: We have been feeding our neighbors cats, while they have been away. And so we did weekly planning in their flat, it was so great because... we looked at their book shelf and they had a Book of Mormon!! They kept it from when sister Montredon and I gave it to them on Christmas! So that was a miracle we saw!! But this evening we went and saw Pam. She is the cutest. She made us homemade pizza, which tasted really good, but she gave us way too much! I got really sick! But it's okay! 😊
Saturday: We had a lesson planned with Gerry, our friend we met last week that accepted to be baptized on February 18th. We met him outside a coffee shop, he is really struggling right now because his mother is passing away. Sadly when he met with us he said he wasn't interested at the moment, but he asked if he could keep the Book of Mormon. He really enjoys reading it, and he loves learning about the church. He says that one of the biggest reasons he loved meeting with us is that we were so unbelievably happy. He was impressed. That is what the gospel does... it brings us TRUE happiness. It was Chinese New Year so we went to Ho Wan, and got Chinese food, and we made our own fortune cookies. Haha sister Honeycutt tried to teach me how to use chopsticks, but it lasted about 20 seconds and I switched to a fork.
Sunday: today was great. We had church, and two of our friends came!! And after church we had lunch with Sister Eckelt. She is so nice, she talked about the Holy Ghost and how amazed she is at how she has been guided her whole life through so many things because she had the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost... what a gift. After sister Eckelt we wanted to go visit a less active (LA)... haha and we got lost. I'm not the best navigator, but hey every time we get lost, good things always come out of it! We thought we knocked on a LA door, but when the man opened the door, It was not what I was expecting. Turns out we went to an active members home: Katherine Eze, but we thought it was a LA because her daughters name was listed under the household on the members list and she is LA. But miracle!!! We found two new friends through this experience. It was Katherine's birthday, and let me tell ya, it was the strangest but best birthday party I have ever been to. We sang church songs, and we took lots of pictures. God really does know where we need to be when we need to be there.
Monday: we had exchanges with the sisters! They are so nice. I love exchanges, because I always learn so much from these amazing sisters I am serving with!
Tuesday: we had dinner at Maureen's house. She is so nice, she really wants me to visit her and the family after my mission! Which I told her of course I would love to! So when we come back, we will have to come visit her and the family!
Wednesday: we had President interviews, and zone training. I love interviews with President. I know that I am here in this mission at this time for a reason, and I know a big reason is because I needed to be with President Gubler. He is amazing! A miracle we had when we got home, was we got a call from Gerry. Sadly his mother passed away this morning, but he felt Iike he needed to  call us. He was grateful to talk with us and we were able to share with him a chapter to read in the Book of Mormon (Alma 40).
This week has been good. I have really been able to see the power that comes through prayer. I have been praying a lot this week for multiple things that I am going through or that I am trying to learn. I am so grateful that I can talk to my Father in Heaven whenever I need to. I am grateful to know that my Savior knows everything that I go through. Every success, every trial, every sickness, every good day... everything! The Atonement is real, and I know that it is carrying me through my mission, and that it will carry me through the rest of my life, as long as I accept it. I love you all so much. I am grateful for your support and all that you do for me. Have a great week! We got this! Cheerio!

I Love these Little Adventures!!!!

Fam Fam!! Oh boy do I love you! Wowzers this week was a week of growth. Growing is GREAT! Hard, but great. This week was hard, but it also was full of laughs and great adventures.
Thursday: today I thought a lot about President Utchdorfs talk from this past conference where he says " Don't confuse the path of diamonds we tread on for ordinary pebbles". Sometimes I really take for granted all of the things I have been given in my life. I am so so so blessed. Today all of our appointments fell through and all of our back up appointments fell through, so we prayed a lot to really try to see what Heavenly Father wanted us to do and what he wanted us to learn from all of this. Sometimes as a missionary we miss just simple things from home... like today Sister Honeycutt and I decided we wanted movie theatre popcorn. Haha we went to the movie theatre, bought the popcorn, and walked straight out haha. I'm sure people thought we were strange to just come to the movie theatre just to by popcorn, but it was great! I love making memories like this!
Friday: we definitely are being put through a trial of faith right now. All of our appointments fell through again. We are really trying to just have a happy attitude and be positive. Sister Honeycutt wanted to take me to get fish and chips because I haven't had them yet. So we went to a "the Good Companions" haha we went there because we like the name! I'm not a huge fan of fish and chips... haha but had to have the experience, right?
Saturday: I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to study the scriptures everyday! It gives me such a boost for the day! Today was better! We decided instead of taking the bus we would walk everywhere and take in all of our surroundings! And it was great! I'm starting to navigate through the area better.
Sunday: Today was great! We had a lesson with one of our new friends Gerry. He is really nice. He reminds me a lot of Uncle Paul, so funny. He committed to be baptized! He is so great!
Monday: we taught Gerry again this morning. He has a lot of questions, but he has such a great out look on life, and he is really wanting to know if this is the path he should go on!
Tuesday: today was great! We had a lesson with Kerri-Anne. She is fantastic! I love her questions, you can tell that she is so sincere, and that she wants to learn. Then we had an activity at Toby Carvery for Relief society, and Kerri-Anne came, and so did Pam, Pam even brought one of her friends, so that was great!!
Wednesday: we had the missionary broadcast in Maidstone, and oh my days was that an adventure. The stake center is about 2 hours away by bus and train. So we had to leave early for it. But we didn't realize that the train station we got off at was too far haha. So we had to walk from the train station to the stake center. Haha it was so funny, we had to cross a river, and hike up a muddy hill, but it was such a great endeavour! You can just imagine us during this little adventure, I'm sure it was very comical. One of those moments you wish you had a camera.
I have really learned a lot this week. I love the gospel so much. Each day I am out talking to people, I am so grateful that I have the knowledge that I do. I have definitely taken it for granted at times, and saw it as "ordinary pebbles". But this path we are on is not ordinary... it is eternal, it is magnificent, it is miraculous. How blessed am I? Sometimes my view can become a bit foggy. This week I want to open not only my eyes a little bit more but also my heart, and look for all the "diamonds" our Loving Heavenly Father has blessed us and myself with. I love you so much. We got this!!

Agency is a Gift!!!

My oh my... a week of a lot of growth for sure! It's crazy when you get a new companion, you kind of feel like you are starting all over again! I love sister Honeycutt, she is so kind. Something that I love about her is how her prayers are so powerful and specific. Her example has really made me want to focus more on having more specific and genuine prayers. But here's a little recap of my "journey" this week.
Wednesday: we went to a place called Hall place. It is this old old old house, it was used as an American base in WWll. So it was really nice to be "tourists" for a change. I think Dad and Grandpa would have loved the history behind this place. We want to go visit the Bexley village, because apparently there is a lot more historical places there (I'll keep ya posted).
Thursday: First snow!!! The people here have said that they haven't seen snow since 2013. They weren't very happy when it snowed, and I think now I know why. It wasn't snow... it was slush haha 😂 but sister Honeycutt and I were SUPER happy to see something that reminded us of home! We went and visited a few members today. One of the members we visited was Sister Fuller. She just turned 96, she says she wants to live until 100 so she can get a letter from the queen haha! She's so funny.
Friday: we had a lesson with a man we met in the bus a few weeks ago, Michael. He doesn't open up a lot, but he loved the lesson, and he committed to be baptized, so that is fabulous!!!!!
Saturday: we saw a lot of miracles today! We had lunch with the Du family, which is always fun. I love being with the members. But after lunch with them ALL of our appointments and back up plans fell through. Sister Honeycutt and I have set some high goals for this transfer. We want to work our socks off, and do all we can do to fulfill our purpose. So it was a little discouraging when everything fell through. We felt prompted to work in a former investigators area in the evening. We knocked 3 houses, and 2 of them let us into their home and let us teach them, and said they wanted us to come back! Complete MIRACLE.
Sunday: all of our appointments fell through today. So we did a lot of finding, and contacting formers 👍.
Monday: we had a lesson with Kerri-Anne today. Oh my days, she is so prepared. It really is kind of scary how similar Kerri-Anne and Gordon's lives are to mom and pops! Like crazy!
Tuesday: we had Zone training with 5 zones!! Which RM's will know that that is A LOT of missionaries!! But it was so fantastic. We focused on faith, and how faith leads people to do amazing things. When we realize who we truly are... sons and daughters of the most high God, and we decide to give our will to his, MIRACLES happen. I know this is true. Something I loved that was said was: "God exercises our faith. He will try us, it is not meant to be easy". I love the word "exercises". When you want to be healthy and fit what do you do... you exercise. It's the same with faith, if you want to know if the gospel is true, if you want to know that God has an eternal plan for you, or that the Book of Mormon is true, etc. We MUST exercise our faith. We can't expect to gain spiritual "muscles" (answers/testimony) if we don't put in the work.
This week I have learned a lot. I know I probably say that every week... but that is what missions are about... learning. It's fantastic! I have learned that people have their OWN agency. And as hard as we work, we can't change that. Agency is a gift God has given us, a wonderful gift. But sometimes it can be hard to accept other people's choices. I have learned that we can only do so much. As we do our part God has given us His PROMISE that he will make up the rest. Why not make he most of each day God has given us, and look for the blessings and miracles he pours upon us! I know that there our plain and precious truths all around us, we just need to open our eyes just a little bit more to see them.

Fire in Our Bones!!!

Another week gone! Time went fast this week. There has been lots of changes this week! I'll share some with you! It's been a FAB week!!
Thursday: we had MLC (Mission Leadership Conference) today!! It was absolutely fantastic and totally needed. The main focus was on how we are missionaries and we do missionary work for one basic reason... because we love our Savior. The Center of everything is our Savior, so our main motivation for everything in the Gospel is Christ. All things point back to Him. And as we are setting goals and making decisions in life we need to always ask ourselves if Christ would be okay with our choices. President asked us a few questions that really made me think...
Do I really believe in Christ? That I can do all things in Him?
Do I have fire and passion for the work? Am I ready to get out there?
Do I Have fire in my bones about Christ!!!!!!!!
If not...Get on your knees and plead with God to give you this fire.
 I felt the spirit so strong. This year I want to have fire in my bones for Christ! MLC was in Crawley, so we had to stay with the Epsom sisters in their area. We were Albee to do some street contacting in their area, and eat at a Mexican restaurant. It was great!
Friday: We had a very interesting wake up call... (don't be worried mama) we heard this REALLY loud alarm... and I was like "who set that as their alarm... that would be horrible to wake up to". But the alarm kept going off... after about 30 seconds we realized that it was the fire alarm! So we all (there was 8 of us in the flat) started running looking for a fire. Turns out someone left a towel to dry right next to the radiator and it caught on fire. Luckily it wasn't a big fire! It was funny though because one of the sisters yelled "we're on fire... fire in the bones". Haha I just laughed at this experience, because in all situations we are in we can relate it to the gospel. But today we had another leadership conference. And during this conference I made a promise with myself and with the Lord, that I would give my all to Christ this year! I want to work my socks off this year!
Saturday: we had District Leadership Conference. And we just talked about what we learned in MLC. But this evening we had a lesson with Johnpaul. He is making progress! But he's struggling with baptism. It's not the fact that he doesn't want to be baptized, he just wants to make sure if he's baptized that he is a solid member. To me this gives me a lot of hope. Because he hasn't cancelled out baptism!! He is just trying to gain a stronger testimony.
Sunday: we had lunch with P.C. Today. She is always so kind and so funny!! This evening our lesson fell through, so we went to a members house and did a GROW with them. I love helping the members set goals. It always helps them to see what they are doing well already!! Sometimes as members we think we don't do enough, but it's nice to know that we are better than we think we are.
Monday: we met with a lot of members, and we did a lot of contacting!!  Not a whole lot to report.
Tuesday: transfers!! I got my new companion today! Sister Honeycutt is from Herriman, Utah. She has been on her mission for almost 8 months. She is really nice. We did a lot of street contacting, because it is a harvest week, so we are trying to find everyone that we can, we have been able to get about 7 new potentials! So that is great!!! Tonight we had a lesson with Kerri-Anne, and she committed to a baptismal date!! She is golden, she is so prepared.
Even though this week has been full of meetings, it has been such a great week! We have worked really hard. I know that as we have "fire in our bones" for Christ, that miracles WILL come to pass. That when we put Christ first, everything just falls into place! I testify that that is so true! I have found that the only way to live life is with Christ at the helm. When Christ is leading our lives, the journey is so much smoother! Let's have FIRE for Christ!! I love you! Have a great week! We got this!!
